The young man was identified as Francisco Hernandez, an artist who was born in Chiapus and was working on his PhD in architecture.
The cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation.
The artist’s body was found with his throat cut and his eyes gouged out, reports El Universal.
The artist had been on a holiday and had gone out to dinner, when he was suddenly found by his wife and another man.
The police were called to the scene and found his body lying face down.
Police said that the man was missing his right eye, which was still partially open, as well as his left eye.
The man had been found by another man after his wife, who also works in the construction industry, alerted authorities to his disappearance.
